Roberta Ellis
Board Chair
Roberta Ellis served for 18 years at WorkSafeBC, joining the executive as Vice President Prevention Services, and retiring in 2016 as Senior Vice President of Corporate Services and Human Resources. Roberta’s previous roles in Manitoba included Associate Deputy Minister of Health, Deputy Minister of Labour, President of the Premier’s Economic Innovation and Technology Council, CEO of Aerospace Training Canada International and Civil Service and Pay Equity Commissioner. Roberta also served as Chair of the Manitoba Advisory Council on the Status of Women, and on national and not-for-profit boards including the Canadian Institute for Health Information, Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety, and Crown Corporation Employers Association.
Since retiring, Roberta has chaired the Industry Training Authority of BC and was a founding director of BC Infrastructure Benefits.
Roberta has a Master of Arts degree from Edinburgh University, as well as a Diploma in Religious Education and a Certificate in Secondary Education.
The Board Chair is a non-voting officer of the organization appointed by the Minister of Health.
