Lona Cunningham

Lona Cunningham is the Executive Director of Resident Doctors of BC (RDBC). Lona is responsible for implementing the vision, mission, and strategy of RDBC, and the day-to-day operations of the organization, including managing staff and finances. Lona works closely with the RDBC Board to develop the organization’s plans, to govern and to manage initiatives including improving member dialogue and engagement and strengthening external relationships. Prior to joining RDBC, Lona worked with Providence Health Care as a Registered Nurse before moving onto a variety of progressive leadership roles there and with both Provincial Health Services Authority and Vancouver Coastal Health.  

Lona has a both a Masters in Health Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from UBC.

Resident Doctors of BC is a professional association representing 1,500 resident doctors working across the province. RDBC raises awareness about who resident doctors are and what they do.
