David Durning

David Durning has 40 years labour relations experience working across Western Canada for several trade union organizations, including the Canadian Labour Congress, the Hospital Employees’ Union and most recently as health and safety advisor for the Health Sciences Association of BC.

David’s occupational health and safety work includes several years as a facilitator with the BC Federation of Labour Health and Safety Centre and as a psychological health and safety advisor with the Canadian Mental Health Association. David currently represents the National Union of Public and General Employees (NUPGE) on the Canadian Labour Congress’ National OH&S Advisory Committee.

The HSPBA represents over 20,000 health care workers from many professional and technical disciplines with members belonging to the Health Sciences Association (HSA), the British Columbia General Employees’ Union (BCGEU), the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE), the Professional Employees Association (PEA) and the Hospital Employees’ Union (HEU).
