Carrie Homuth is a Manager for the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and the high acuity unit at Island Health’s Royal Jubilee Hospital. From her experience, the biggest challenge of the pandemic was the tremendous amount of pressure and responsibility of ensuring there was safe equipment including PPE and an overall safe work environment for staff. Carrie believes that remembering why she became a nurse and leader, the privilege of helping people at their most vulnerable, can help attract more people to healthcare jobs.
