New guide helps community physicians and staff improve workplace health and safety

Community physicians in B.C. now have a single source for all workplace health and safety rules and regulations.

The Community Physician Health and Safety Guide makes it easier for doctors who want to be focused on patient care, not administrative tasks, find information to respond to workplace incidents and to build health and safety programs for their staff and clinics.  Until the guide was created, physicians had to search multiple sites and sources, and then interpret legislation and requirements unique to their practice.  The guide takes the guesswork out of workplace health and safety.

The Community Physician Health and Safety Guide was developed in consultation with Doctors of BC, WorkSafeBC, the Ministry of Health, and legal experts.  It was funded through the 2022 Physician Master Agreement and is part of the Community Physician Health and Safety program being developed by SWITCH BC.
