SWITCH BC at BCGEU Empowering Workplace Leaders Conference
Empowering Workplace Leaders was the theme at the BC General Employees’ Union (BCGEU) Health Services OHS & Steward Conference and empowering it was with topics including bullying, harassment, workplace violence, and psychological health and safety at work.
The BCGEU is one of the largest and most diverse unions in B.C. with over 85,000 members, this conference brought together around 250 members from the B.C. health sector. At the conference the SWITCH BC team met with people who work in long term care, home and community care, and other workplaces.
At the SWITCH BC booth, we asked participants to answer questions about workplace violence, announced the Provincial Violence Prevention Curriculum (PVPC) Refresh engagement sessions, and started to bring some awareness to the OHS Resource Centre – a platform that conference participants were excited about (us too!).
