Board Chair Reappointed and new Board Directors

News and Media Centre  SWITCH BC News

B.C. Health Minister Adrian Dix has reappointed SWITCH BC’s Board Chair Roberta Ellis to another three-year term. Ellis is SWITCH BC’s inaugural Board Chair and since her original appointment in 2020 has been vital in getting the organization up and running and on the cusp of introducing two key programs in 2024: the OHS Resource Centre and the refresh of the Provincial Violence Prevention Curriculum.

The Ministry of Health has appointed Ryan Murray as its ex-officio representative on the Board.

The Health Employers Association of BC (HEABC) has appointed three new employer directors: Sharon Torgerson from Island Health, Wayne Balshin from Vancouver Coastal Health, and Matt Prescott from HEABC.

“We are so pleased to have continuity with the reappointment of our Board Chair who brings a deep understanding of the opportunities and challenges facing health unions, employers, and physicians in order to steer the highly committed and invested Board and staff. We are so also excited to have fresh insights and welcome the new directors who join the existing board members in bringing decades of healthcare experience to our new organization.”  Victoria Schmid, SWITCH BC CEO.
