Matt Prescott

Matt Prescott oversees HEABC’s Legal Services, Negotiations & Labour Relations team, which provides contract negotiations and labour relations services to its members and government and includes HEABC’s Physician Services group. Matt has a strong knowledge of labour and employment law and litigation processes and has successfully led all aspects of collective bargaining in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.

Matt graduated from the University of Victoria Faculty of Law. Before joining HEABC, Matt worked for a leading international business law and litigation firm where he represented public and private sector employers before provincial and federal courts, various human rights tribunals, and labour relations boards.

HEABC represents a diverse group of over 200 publicly funded health care employers including health authorities. HEABC is the accredited bargaining agent for most publicly funded health employers in the province, negotiating six major provincial agreements covering 170,000 unionized health care employees.
