SWITCH BC leads refresh of Provincial Violence Prevention Curriculum

News and Media Centre  Partner News  SWITCH BC News

The Ministry of Health is taking steps to further support safer workplaces for everyone in healthcare. As part of that work, SWITCH BC is proud to be leading the refresh of the Provincial Violence Prevention Curriculum. The new violence prevention training will include trauma-informed practice principles and improving the way the course is delivered throughout B.C.

We are asking everyone working in healthcare to share their experiences to help us improve violence prevention training. Hearing directly from people working in healthcare will help shape an inclusive, diverse, and trauma-informed program that better meets the needs of healthcare teams now and into the future.

Join the conversation at Your Say to share ideas to improve training in the following areas:

  • modernize the content
  • expand the program to everyone in healthcare including physicians, contractors, and students
  • improve the delivery methods for accessibility
  • support trainers and facilitators
