On behalf of everyone at SWITCH BC, I extend my sincere congratulations to Hospital Employees’ Union (HEU) president Barb Nederpel, who was elected to her fourth term last week, as well as Lynn Bueckert, who was ratified as Secretary-business manager.  Lynn is also a member of SWITCH BC’s Board of Directors.

HEU represents 60,000 hospital and long-term care workers in B.C. and is a key partner in SWITCH BC’s work to collaboratively make healthcare workplaces safer for everyone. With members who work in every area of health care, the voices of HEU members are key in our work to promote health and wellbeing, prevent violence and injuries – both physical and psychological – and reduce risk of exposures that lead to occupational diseases in workplaces.

Thank you, Barb, Lynn and the entire HEU team, for your partnership with SWITCH BC to support health care workers. I look forward to continuing our work together.
