OHS Resource Centre soft launch expands to all committees
With initial testing complete, the OHS Resource Centre is now being expanded to all Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committees (JOHSC) at Providence Health Care (PHC).
“This expansion marks an important milestone towards a province-wide rollout of the digital meeting platform,” says Victoria Schmid, SWITCH BC CEO. “We are so grateful for the time and insights Providence Health Care JOHSC members have shared with us as we worked through the soft launch of the OHS Resource Centre. The product is stronger for it.”
The OHS Resource Centre is a digital platform that will streamline JOHSC work by making it easier to plan meetings, take notes, make recommendations, and take action with an accessible record of the work. The soft launch began at Providence Health Care with four committees in November 2024, and the platform is now set to rollout to all Providence Health Care JOHSCs.
Conceived and designed by health unions and health employers more than a decade ago, health unions, and employers have provided direction and advice throughout its development to ensure the OHS Resource Centre supports the good work of JOHSCs throughout the health system. Funded by the Nurses Bargaining Association and the Facilities Bargaining Association, the platform is the first component of the larger vision that health unions and employers have for the OHS Resource Centre. Future components include occupational health and safety resources and greater supports for regional committees.
Following the conclusion of the soft launch, the OHS Resource Centre will be available to health organizations throughout B.C. beginning in 2025.
