The Ministry of Health has announced, as of April 8, 2024, respiratory season is over, and the additional infection prevention and control measures that were introduced last fall are no longer required at all times. That means masking is only required based on a point-of-care risk assessment, and active screening of visitors and staff is no longer required.
Also, beginning April 8, 2024, spring COVID-19 booster vaccines are available to everyone over the age of six months and highly recommended for more vulnerable populations including people over 65 years.
