EMPLOYEE RESPONSIBILITY

  • Take reasonable care to protect your health and safety in the workplace
  • Take reasonable care to protect the health and safety of others in the workplace
  • Comply with WorkSafeBC Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) regulation
  • Use or wear personal protective equipment
  • Report to your supervisor or employer any workplace condition that is hazardous to the health or safety of you or another person
  • Report to your supervisor or employer any OHS regulation that is not being followed
  • Cooperate with your Joint Occupational Health & Safety Committee (JOHSC) and WorkSafeBC

SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITY

  • Ensure the health and safety of all workers under your direct supervision
  • Make workers aware of all known or reasonably foreseeable hazard in the workplace
  • Be knowledgeable about the OHS regulation related to your work
  • Comply with WorkSafeBC OHS regulation and officers when required
  • Consult and cooperate with your JOHSC

EMPLOYER RESPONSIBILITY

  • Ensure the health and safety of all workers and everyone else in the workplace
  • Comply with WorkSafeBC OHS regulation and ensure workers know their rights and duties to comply as well
  • Provide the workers with information, instruction, training, and supervision necessary to ensure their health and safe
  • Fix any workplace conditions that are hazardous to the health or safety of workers
  • Provide and maintain in good condition personal protective equipment and ensure they are used by the workers
  • Establish OHS policies and programs that align with WorkSafeBC OHS regulation
  • Consult and cooperate with JOHSC and WorkSafeBC
