More than 500 health care aides in three BC cities and one great opportunity to connect with some of the most important people working in healthcare. SWITCH BC was a proud sponsor of Hearts and Hands – SafeCare BC’s annual conference for health care aides/assistants.

The conference was held in Langley, Kelowna, and Victoria.

At our sponsorship booth, we asked health care aides what is their number one workplace health and safety concern – and mental wellbeing topped their list.

Health care aides also said verbal and physical workplace is on the rise. And their mental health at work is a little worse now than it was before the pandemic.

The conference gave health care aides advice to add new skills or approaches to their work and to hear from inspirational speakers on topics important to them including focusing on wellbeing, building resilience,  and working with families affected by dementia.
