We had the opportunity to connect with more than 300 Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee (JOHSC) members from over 90 committees at Fraser Health’s JOHSC Conference in Langley.

The theme of the conference was Healthy Work. Healthy People. Sessions included best practices in workplace design and supporting wellbeing in the workplace.

At our SWITCH BC information booth we asked committee members what their number one workplace health and safety concern is and mental wellbeing topped the list followed by MSI/patient handling injuries.

Conference attendees also shared their mental health is a little bit worse now than before the pandemic and JOHSC members are experiencing fewer incidents of verbal and physical workplace violence in the last year than the year before.
