Sharing SWITCH BC’s De-escalation Tools with Vancouver MOAs

Events

Staff from our Community Physician Health and Safety (CPHS) program attended the Vancouver Division of Family Practice’s Medical Office Assistant (MOA) Networking Event. They set up an information table to promote CPHS tools and resources.

The event was a terrific opportunity to build relationships with Division leaders and hear directly from health workers.

A highlight was the strong interest in CPHS’s new de-escalation tool, HEARD+D. MOAs noted that these practical communication tools will help in clinics, especially where patient frustration and heavy workloads lead to tough interactions. Attendees also wanted to learn about CPHS clinic assessments and how to access more materials through the program’s web portal.

The event strengthened connections and highlighted the importance of continuing to work together to develop tools that support and encourage healthy, safe, and respectful clinic environments.
