Discussing violence prevention at the Provincial Physicians Health and Safety Summit
SWITCH BC attended the annual provincial Physician Health and Safety Summit hosted by Doctors of BC last week. We had a great time connecting with physicians, partners, and Oversight Group members.
Director of Operations, Jennifer Zadorozniak, and Manager, Education and Training, Matthew Rolheiser, presented on workplace violence. The interactive presentation covered the updated Provincial Violence Prevention Curriculum (PVPC) eLearning and how it’s been received by physicians.

We had a table where we shared information about our Community Physician Health and Safety (CPHS) program and the updated PVPC for Physicians.
Attendees could also view our CPHS research poster that highlighted how we’re addressing occupational health and safety in community medical practices. It showcased the data driving results for the program, including clinic assessment satisfaction, and physician and staff engagement with de-escalation tools.
We took this opportunity to film some videos, including program testimonials from Doctors of BC president Dr Adam Thompson and co-chair of the CPHS Oversight Group Dr Kathy Lee. Coming to the website soon!
We’re grateful for the opportunity to share ideas, explore innovative strategies, and strengthen our collective commitment to physician wellbeing and workplace safety.
