Dr. Omar Ahmad is an emergency department (ED) and critical care medicine physician at Island Health. For Omar, the most challenging part of the pandemic was the uncertainty, fear, and anxiety, particularly when there was a surge of patients and a shortage of ED nurses. Omar believes recognition, continually showing appreciation and checking in with his colleagues will help move the healthcare system forward in a positive, progressive way.
