Engaging with BCGEU members at ‘Breathing Life into Work’ – a health and safety event
At the BC General Employees’ Union (BCGEU) occupational health and safety conference, Breathing Life into Work, SWITCH BC staff had the opportunity to connect with union members.
Several health care workers stopped by our booth to learn more about SWITCH BC. We demonstrated the features of the new digital OHS Resource Centre, and its meeting management tools for Joint Occupational Health and Safety committees (JOHSC), such as agendas, meeting minutes, and calendar features. Several attendees signed up for SWITCH BC’s newsletter and said they are looking forward to accessing new JOHSC resources as members of their local committees.
The OHS-focused conference covered topics including musculoskeletal injuries, psychologically health and safety, fatigue, and air quality at work.
Thanks to Frank Anderson, BCGEU Director Occupational Health and Safety and SWITCH BC board member and Wendy Mah, BCGEU OHS Officer and SWITCH BC TAC member for hosting us.
