OHS Resource Centre expands reach across Interior Health

News and Media Centre  SWITCH BC News

The OHS Resource Centre is expanding its reach across Interior Health (IH) with more than 30,000 health care workers now invited to access the provincewide digital platform. The new digital meeting and committee management platform for joint occupational health and safety committees (JOHSCs) was rolled out at IH in early 2026, and now that all committees are using it for health and safety work, health workers can use it too.

JOHSCs play a vital role in building a safe and healthy workplace for employees. The OHS Resource Centre helps JOHSC members do their work with greater ease and efficiency. IH staff can now easily find their committee and membership, read agendas, meeting minutes, actions logs, and reports on the new, online platform. Staff can more easily participate in and contribute to a culture of enhanced health and safety.

There are more than 3,400 JOHSC members using the OHS Resource Centre across five health authorities and organizations. All B.C. health authorities are implementing the OHS Resource Centre for JOHSC health and safety work by the end of 2026.

The OHS Resource Centre is a partnership among health unions, employers, and SWITCH BC.
